Talk:Grammar

I have finished my intended replacement for this page, which consisted of a redesign of this page as an index page similar to Scripting Reference (see concept page) and a special Grammar page. However, looking again at both (old and new), I tend to think that the Grammar page I created is a bit too-much for an introductory page.

Thus, I propose to implement the re-design of this page as follows:

  1. Make the /AviSynth_Syntax page an index page as in /Scripting_Reference
  2. Use existing page's text as the /Grammar page, possibly removing some extraneous text or rearranging it to other existing relevant pages.
  3. Make a new page: /The_full_AviSynth_Grammar, under /Scripting_reference and put there the contents of my new Grammar page.

Any opinions are welcomed.Gzarkadas 11:09, 3 June 2008 (PDT)

Hi! Sorry for the late response :) It looks very nice! I agree it's a bit too much for an introductory page. I need to think about this some more. I don't think there is not enough time to get it into v2.58 (my free time is pretty limited at the moment).
Hi Gzarkadas! Your articles is very informative! But, IMHO, some your texts are too long and complicated for middle and beginners level users like me :) I like laconic, short-spoken and non-formal old version. Why redesign it? Some complex items may be discussed and illustrated at separate pages with a links to them. Or may be have two versions (informal and formal)? Fizick 13:10, 17 June 2008 (PDT)
That's why I placed this comment here at the first place. The redesign is merely to rename the old page (and keep it) as /Grammar, so that the /Avisynth_Syntax link is a table of contents to all the simple pages under the Avisynth_Syntax (Plugins, Script_variables, Operators, etc.). This will give the same look-and-feel to both sections under Avisynth Syntax heading of the main page.
The new page will go to Scripting Reference as stated; thus we will have two versions, one at AviSynth_Syntax section (the original) and one long at Scripting_reference. As you can see, I am consious of the complexity of my writings :). Gzarkadas 16:56, 17 June 2008 (PDT)
